BBGD v2 Interview

March 1st, 2020

Recently I was interviewed by Sam Berkow and Ken Berger www.aboutprosound.com

Sam (https://siaacoustics.com) was the field engineer for Big Brown Get Down Vol. 2 recorded live at the Fat Cat, NYC. The recording of this special evening was an after thought. I was focused on the music and the musicians. I asked Sam if he could do it and he showed up with a portable rig and the rest is on the record. We speak about this during the interview. When doing a gig there are many people behind the scenes that don’t get acknowledged. I want to give a shout out to the following: Mark Gurley manager and presenter, Mitch Borden Fat Cat impresario and Dave Glasser at Air Show Mastering who behind the scenes were pivotal in getting the music out there.

-Ali Jackson, keeper of the groove

New Album Announcement

It has been 17 years since we released Big Brown Get Down volume 1. I am very proud to release Volume 2. This project was recorded live during a short run at the Fat Cat Jazz club in New York City.

This project captured an exciting time on the music scene and in my life. The band features the legendary Wynton Marsalis, Bob Hurst III along with Aaron Goldberg premiere pianist of his generation.

I hope this recording brings you closer to joy, emotion and feeling of the power of live music.

Love the music that amplifies love in the world.

Out January 31st, 2021. Only available at alidrums.com
